Idaho Activates Drivewyze at Five More Ports of Entry on I-15, I-90 and US-95

DALLAS, May 23, 2018 – The Idaho Transportation Department has added Drivewyze bypass service to five additional ports of entry on U.S. Interstates 15 and 90 and U.S. Highway 95. Drivewyze PreClear weigh station bypass service is now offered at a total of seven sites in the Gem State.

The state uses the Drivewyze platform to screen trucks for safety history, regulatory compliance and weight. Weight data is transmitted through integration with state-owned weigh-in-motion (WIM) sensors installed in the roadways upstream from each service site.

“We’re pleased to expand the availability of Drivewyze to five more locations at two Idaho/Washington border areas and to the Idaho/Utah border area,” said Brian Heath, president and CEO of Drivewyze. “More service sites mean more bypasses and this grows the value of our industry-leading service for both our state partners and our trucking customers.”

Drivers with the Drivewyze PreClear weigh station bypass service on their Drivewyze-enabled smartphones, tablets and electronic logging devices receive bypass opportunities at these five new locations:

  • Huetter EB on I-90, about 4 miles east of the Idaho/Washington border near Coeur d’Alene;

  • Inkom NB and SB on I-15, about 14 miles southwest of Pocatello and 60 miles north of the Idaho/Utah border;

  • Lewiston NB and SB on US-95, about 4 miles east of the Idaho/Washington border.

“The fundamental value of weigh station bypass services is driven by the size of our service network,” Heath said. “With the addition of the five sites in Idaho, Drivewyze now offers weigh station bypass at an industry-leading 720 sites in 43 states and provinces, which compose the largest network of bypass service sites in the history of the trucking industry.

“Drivewyze saves drivers and their companies valuable time on the road, reduces their fuel and other operating costs and increases their productivity,” he added. “By offering drivers and carriers more bypass opportunities, the department can reduce congestion in and around weigh stations and enable port inspectors to focus their efforts on those carriers that demand the most attention. The success and growth of our enterprise is based on the hard work and ethics of our values-based organization and our commitment to delivering win-win solutions to our government and industry stakeholders.”

The Drivewyze PreClear weigh station bypass application is available on a number of Drivewyze partner platforms, including Omnitracs, PeopleNet, Pegasus Transflo, Rand McNally and Zonar. Fleets can turn on a free analytics weigh station loss reporting tool to help them determine how much Drivewyze can potentially save them before activating the subscription-based weigh station bypass service. The application is also available for Android and iOS-based tablets or smartphones.

Drivewyze comes with a free Weigh Station Heads-Up service for real-time notifications at more than 1,200 weigh stations and inspection sites nationwide. To learn more about Drivewyze, please visit www.drivewyze.com.
